A New Year for Aromatherapy, Meditation, Yoga & You

Greetings for the New Year, my friends!!  Can you believe it's that time again?  Wow, what changes 2017 has seen.  Did you know we're coming up on my first year anniversary of entering into this blog?  My, the things I've learned & I think the biggest lesson I've learned is how much I don't know!!  Lol

I'm excited about what 2018 has waiting for us.  2017 has blessed me with so many ideas on how to help you that I'm darn near bursting with excitement!

Let me share with you some of the ideas of what's in store for us in 2018.  As you may know, I published my first YouTube video on 12/27/17.  It was about how I mix the oils for a Skin Healing Blend.

Yes, you guessed it, there will be more of these "How to" videos.  The goal is to release at least one a month.

I've also mapped out a Meditation plan & Yoga plan, blended, of course, with Aromatherapy.  My goal in these will be to release one of each at the beginning of the quarter.  It will highlight my progress along the maps.

The purpose of these videos will be to show you how to improve your Meditation & Yoga skills, regardless of where you start.  I am embarrassed to think of how poorly I will show in the beginning, but we're going to focus on the goal & do this together.  Together we will learn how to focus on a goal, how to forgive ourselves for getting off track & what it looks like when we love ourselves continually.

We will be discussing more Essential Oils.  We will learn how to use them in our daily lives & how to trust them.  We will practice Aromatherapy & talk about what we like about it.

My goal for tomorrow is to record the first videos of where I am on my Aromatherapy, Meditation & Yoga for the first quarter.  Watch for them!!

I thank you for your time.  Til next we meet, Be Blessed.

Clove Bud Essential Oil

My friends, welcome, welcome!  It is always such a pleasure to have you join me.  I look forward to our time together.
Today’s Essential Oil in our study of Aromatherapy is, you guessed it, Clove Essential Oil.  I don’t know about you, but my first thought when I heard “Clove” was of the hard, little things Mom put on her baked ham.  I have a memory of biting into one as a child, but it’s rather vague.  Guess that means it wasn’t too traumatic.  Lol

Well, there’s more to Cloves than an herb for great tasting ham.  It’s analgesic, antiaging, antibacterial, anticlotting, antispasmodic, antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral, antioxidant & antiseptic.  It used to aid in the purification of the blood, as an expectorant & an insecticide.  It’s known for its aphrodisiac & stimulating properties.  Cloves are also used to treat skin issues, toothache, indigestion, coughs, asthma, headache & stress.  It’s useful in treating insomnia & neural disorders.  Yes, clove is another one of those you need for your first aid kit.
Clove has been used extensively in ancient Indian & Chinese civilizations.  During the seventh & eighth centuries it spread to Europe.  For many years it was one of the most valuable of the spice wars.

Clove is an evergreen tree.  It produces a flower bud, often referred to as the clove bud.  This bud has a shaft & head which resembles a nail.  Latin for nail is clavus & the French word is clou.  There’s some debate regarding which one is the inspiration for naming the tree.

Now, while I’m telling you this is an awesome Essential Oil for your first aid kit, it’s a kind of forgotten oil.  In my research of Aromatherapy, Clove Essential Oil hasn’t really been mentioned.  It came to my attention because of my bonus daughter, Linda.

Linda is a young wife of six years & they have 3 children, 5 years old & down.  They’ve had some rough spots & are financially challenged.  The whole family has  sensitivities to different allergens, so Linda has been looking for more natural cleansers that fit their budget.

When Linda found herself in a position of a possible tooth infection & truly detesting the dentist, she decided to search for a different path.   Again, looking for something natural & budget friendly.  She found a recipe that called for Turmeric spice, Coconut Oil, Clove Essential Oil & Sea Salt.

That’s when Clove Essential Oil became my next interest.  She had checked & didn’t find any, so she reached out to me.  I found Aura Cacia Organic Clove Bud (Eugenia caryophyllata) & stocked my shelf.  Within a few days she had her supply & made her recipe.  First thing the next morning Linda is letting me know the pain is gone.  She continues to use it, to help heal her teeth & gums.

That led me, of course, to learning more about Clove Essential Oil.  Oh & what I’ve found!  I’ve already mentioned a bunch of it.  Now I’ll go into a bit more of the details.

Clove buds have been used for relieving oral pain, throat pain & bad breath.  That has made it one of the oldest remedies in dentistry.  In ancient India they would chew on a clove to freshen their breath before speaking with the king.  Drops of Clove Oil was applied to a clean piece of cloth, then put on the aching tooth while they slept, after a few days the tooth would be healed.  Gargling with diluted clove oil is still used for healing sore gums & mouth ulcers.  It eases throat irritation & pain.  Only use Clove Essential Oil when diluted, never neat.

In 1914 the Thomas Adams Company first manufactured a chewing gum flavored with cloves.  You can still buy it, but only every few years.  The company will make a batch for certain occasions.

Now that we have stated the warning, I also want to share that there have been some recent studies.  These studies show that when highly diluted Clove Essential Oil is applied to a teething baby’s gums the antiseptic & soothing qualities greatly numb the pain & reduce the discomfort.

Apply diluted Clove Essential Oil to your face.  It can help heal acne.  Because of its rejuvenating & stimulating properties, it increases the blood flow under the skin.  This can aid in healthier & younger looking skin.

Whether you use the clove buds or the Clove Essential Oil, you’re boosting your immune system.  Its ability to cleanse the blood, plus its antiviral property increase your resistance to a multitude of diseases.  The antioxidant property scavenges your body, clearing the dangerous free radicals that are known to cause diseases like heart diseases & certain cancers.

Clove Essential Oil is known to be a natural aphrodisiac. As such it is excellent at reducing your stress level.  It stimulates the brain, removing mental fatigue & exhaustion.  It also can be helpful in the relief from insomnia.  It has been used in successfully treating memory loss, depression & anxiety.

The cooling & anti-inflammatory effect of Clove Essential Oil makes it wonderful for clearing nasal passages.  The expectorant property makes it a useful treatment for respiratory disorders like bronchitis, asthma, tuberculosis, sinusitis, even coughs & colds.

It's effective in treating indigestion issues & flatulence.  It reduces nausea & vomiting.  Diffusing Clove Essential Oil can be calming & can result in positive effects.

Mixing clove oil & sesame oil, then warming it, is a good remedy for ear aches.  The analgesic property will ease the discomfort, while the anti-inflammatory property will reduce the irritation.

Clove Essential Oil, when mixed with a little sea salt, can provide relief from headaches.  Apply it to the forehead, temples or neck for relief.  The anti-inflammatory property eases tension, the increased blood flow brings oxygen, the analgesic property eases the pain & the aphrodisiac property reduces the stress.

And there’s still more.  The aroma of Clove Essential Oil is a natural bug repellent.  Because of its ability to cleanse & purify the blood, there is belief it is useful in preventing & treating cancer.  For the same reason it is thought to aid in controlling diabetes.

I do believe Clove Essential Oil has proven to be a necessary part of any natural first aid kit.  Even in it’s dried & ground states, it’s an excellent addition for our overall health.

As always, my friends, I pray there is at least one nugget you can take with you.  Please leave me a nugget in the comment section below.

I thank you for your time.  Til next we meet, Be Blessed.

Aromatherapy & My Recipes

Greetings & Salutations my Friends!  It is so good to see you again!!  Your presence is always welcome.

It has been brought to my attention how my Essential Oils have been changing my life & that it may be time to share some of what I’ve learned & how I’m using it.

Let’s start with why my husband suggested this subject for the blog.

Where I work is having a Halloween potluck & I decided I would bake some cookies.  I do enjoy baking!!  So, I found a recipe for a spice cookie, added chopped apples & topped with a salted caramel.  Everything went well until the caramel.  I melted the caramel, added the salt & a tad bit of milk.  When it was thoroughly mixed I applied it to the top of the cookies.

Near the end I managed to spill some of that hot caramel on the index finger, left hand.  Boy, that stuff was HOT!!  I managed to get it off that finger onto the middle finger, right hand.  Now I’m caught.  I have to prevent the caramel from dripping any more from the cookie, but the fingers felt like fire!!

Finally, finally I was able to  devote full attention to the fingers.  Ran cold water over them for a bit, then grabbed a couple of those plastic ice cubes & held on tight.  I went through 4 pairs before the fire in the skin was finally out, especially the middle finger.

Shortly after it was time for my nightly routine.  One of which is to apply a 2% blend of Tea Tree Essential Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) & Grapeseed Oil to the skin tags on my neck area & the acne on my face.  I had started with a 1% blend & noticed a difference.  Also, there were no adverse effects from using the Tea Tree Essential Oil.  Grapeseed oil is a great carrier oil.  I’ve noticed it absorbs quickly, without any greasy residue.  (Check out my entry on Sunday, July 9, 2017 for more about Tea Tree, also known as Melaleuca Oil.)

I was already using Tea Tree Essential Oil & Peppermint Essential Oil blended in baking soda & corn starch as my deodorant.  I’ve elected to stop using store bought deodorant due to the link to breast cancer.  The powder mixture helps absorb any  moisture throughout the day.  The Tea Tree Essential Oil increases your sweating to promote toxin removal.  The Peppermint gives the blend an uplifting aroma for the day.

But I noticed that some of my skin tags were disappearing.  I knew Tea Tree Essential Oil is good for the skin, it helps open pores, but I did not expect it to affect skin tags.

That’s when I made my first batch of 1% Tea Tree Essential Oil & Grapeseed oil.  On my right hand was a small skin tag.  Light brownish in color & a bit of rough skin.  My husband had also commented on how my age was starting to show on my hands.  I made my blend & started applying 3-4 drops a day to the back of both hands.

I don’t keep very good notes, so I don’t know how long, but that small tag fell off the back of my hand.  It’s gone.  My husband has stated the age spots are being invisible.  That’s when I decided to apply it to other places on my body.

I noticed some tags shrank & went away.  I’ve also noticed others showing up.  I kept applying the 1% blend, maybe once a day.  When I finished the first bottle, I evaluated & decided to increase the percentage & make it my habit to apply twice a day.

Ok, I say all that to say that when I applied the Tea Tree Essential Oil to my tags & face, of course it was absorbed into both burned fingers.  Since the pain was gone & they weren’t too tender, I didn’t give it any thought.

This morning, I was doing something, I don’t even remember what, when I noticed the blister on my middle finger.  It didn’t hurt, I just noticed it looked strange.  I took a closer look & can tell how the hot caramel had been strung on my finger.  A little squiggle of a blister.  But it doesn’t hurt.

As for applying it to my face, well, I have clearer skin than since before I was pre-teen.  When I have an eruption of the facial skin, I’ll use witch hazel on my face after cleansing it.  Witch hazel is a natural astringent, healing the small blood vessels in the face.  Once the eruptions are clear, then I apply the 2% Tea Tree Essential Oil blend.  This opens the pores to allow dirt & toxins out.  A side effect is it appears to be lessening the wrinkles on my face.  I know, boo-hoo, right?  Lol

Another area I have continual issue with is my ears.  Oh my gosh, the itch that has developed in them!  And I mean for years!!!  When it first developed was probably about 8 years ago.  I told the doctor I was seeing at that time about the itch & how petroleum jelly seemed to be the only thing to ease it.  Well, he prescribed something.  Only thing I remember is that it did help.

Then about 6 years ago I changed doctors & told this one about the itch & prescription. He tells me to go to the health food store & purchase Florasone cream.  The difference it made from the very start was amazing!

Now fast forward to February 2017.  I flew up to Montana to meet my new grandchild.  Stayed a week & then flew back to SoCal.  Within a day or two of arriving home my ears started to ache.  Both of them, but the left one was the worst.  I went to a local urgent care.  Received some anti-biotics (the strong ones, the z-pack) & some ear drops.  About 5 days later I’m back at the urgent care, still in pain.  They gave me an even stronger anti-biotic & more ear drops.

This seemed to help some, but in about 10 days it was back again!!!  So, one more trip to this urgent care.  This time it was a steroid shot.  I do not recommend them.  It does appear help ease the other pain, because those things hurt!!  For days!!  Unfortunately, it did not actually alleviate the ear aches.

I had started my Essential Oil & Aromatherapy store by this time.  I was researching how the oils could aid in a more natural healing.   As I spoke about in a series of 3 blogs, when the student is ready, the teacher appears.  (See 9/3/17, 9/16/17 & 10/1/17 for the whole story.)  True to this, my niece from a previous marriage happens into my life at that moment.  Why is that important?  Because it so happens she has been using doTERRA brand Essential Oils for many years.  (Keep checking back.  I’ll have her story to share soon.)

From our chance meeting at breakfast one morning we made a date for another day.  I went to her place to learn more from her.  She explained how applying Sweet Basil Essential Oil, neat, from just behind the ear lobe, down along the neck allows the oil to soak into the eustachian tube.  (Never place any Essential Oil directly in the ear canal.)  Once in your system Basil Essential Oil’s antibacterial/analgesic properties & how it improves blood circulation can start helping you feel better.

In my research of the causes of ear infections, I learned that many times the cause of the ache is not necessarily an infection.  It could be water trapped in the Eustachian tube.  This would cause severe discomfort & irritation.  But doctors are trained to prescribe antibiotics for the littlest thing & we’ve come to expect that little dosage to fix us.  I had already taken some of the highest antibiotic dosages & a steroid shot & nothing changed.  I needed to do something different.

So I decided to make a solution of hydrogen peroxide & isopropyl alcohol.  Each morning, noon & evening I would put a drop in each ear.  I would listen to the peroxide bubbling in my ear.  It tickled, too.  But I waited for the bubbling to stop before applying to the other ear.  Then I would apply the Basil Essential Oil to my neck, along the Eustachian tube.  It only took a day or two for the pain to finally be gone.  Finally, relief.  After a few more days I could tell it the ears were clearing.  The peroxide wasn’t bubbling as much or for as long.

During this ordeal I noticed how much more my ears were itching.  On one of my trips to urgent care I asked a doctor about the itching.  He said it was most likely eczema or psoriasis & all I could do is keep applying the Florasone cream.

After I used my peroxide/alcohol solution I noticed the itching lessened dramatically.   I thought about the Florasone cream & wondered if there was an Essential Oil that could help also.  In my research on Peppermint Essential Oil (See 5/28/17), I found that Peppermint is a natural hydrator for your skin & a natural remedy for fungal & bacterial infections.  I decided to add a couple of drops to my Florasone cream.
Just for clarification, I do not place the cream inside my ear.  I get a little on a Q-tip & apply it to the inside of the tragus.  (Circled in red.) I also make sure to get some on the inside crease (lined in blue).

Since using this combination I have almost eliminated that itching.  I have noticed this is not a cure.  If I go too many days without using the cream, then the itching comes back & I have to start the process over again.  First the solution, then the cream.

Well, that’s a couple of my favorite recipes & how I came to find them.  I’m putting together a book of my recipes & how to blend them.  Keep an eye out for it.

Until next we meet, may you Be Blessed.

Pine Essential Oil

Greetings my dear friends.  I always appreciate the time you spend with me.  Our topic today is Scots Pine Essential Oil, also known as Pine Nut Essential Oil.

I have always loved the smell of the mountains.  The smell of the Evergreen trees.  Firs, Pines, Cypress, Spruce & Junipers.  The sound of the wind blowing through their needles is so comforting.   But I never realized why I feel so happy & content while in the open air surrounded by these trees.

Then I learned that the Pine Essential Oil is actually very healing for us.  Breathing in the vapor aids in relieving congestion.  Diluted in a massage oil & rubbed into muscles can relieve the ache of overdoing the work out or gardening.  The aroma is uplifting, aiding in feelings of alertness & productivity.

The Pinus Sylvestris tree originated in Austria & France & is now found all over the world.  It’s a fast-growing, hardy tree, known to survive in such extreme areas as eastern Siberia.  In fact, Siberia, along with Austria, Hungary, Yugoslavia, France & the Baltic States are the main producing regions of Pine Essential Oil.

Because the Pinus Sylvestris tree is found all over the world in huge numbers, is such a hardy tree, living upwards of 250 years & the fact we obtain the Scot Pine Essential Oil from the distillation of the needles, then our source is renewable.  It also it an economical oil for your first aid kit.

The Pinus Sylvestris tree has been used in many ways throughout history.  Ancient Egyptians would use the pine kernels in their cooking, they are known to kill food bacteria & decrease contamination.  The needles from these trees were used to stuff bedding.  The aromatic oils in the needles would repel lice, fleas, bedbugs, etc.  The aroma also dispels worry, tiredness & negative emotions, aiding in a good night’s rest.  It aids in opening & clearing airways.

Ancient Greek civilizations, including Hippocrates himself, used Pine Essential Oil.  It was used as a pain-reducer, energy increasing, cleansing & stress-buster.

Native Americans used the needles & shoots to treat colds, coughs, fevers & bronchial conditions.  Burning certain parts of the tree, along with juniper & cedar were used in their purifying rituals.

Today we harvest other ingredients from this tree.  A crude resin which is distilled to produce rosin, the sticky stuff for the violinists’ bow & turpentine.  We cultivate them for the pitch, tar & wood, all used in construction & building.  And it’s a common fragrance component in toiletries, cleaning supplies & cosmetics.

Pinus Sylvestris Essential Oil is an anti-inflammatory & has the antiseptic quality that helps stop the spread of infection during the cold & flu season.  It removes dangerous fungi, bacteria, pathogens, molds & yeast.  It has an analgesic action that helps relieve stiff joints & muscles.

When you diffuse it into your area, it is killing odors & purifying the air.  Through the presence of antioxidants, it fights free radicals.  It’s been known to decrease allergies.  It dispels negative emotions.  Pine Essential Oil brings comfort & strength to nervous exhaustion, sadness & stress.

Diffuse it around those who are in convalescence.  It boosts emotions, & the body’s metabolic rate.  It acts as a tonic to your whole system.

Use it as a disinfectant.  Pine Essential Oil is effective in killing many of our common household germs.  Some are E. coli, mildew & yeast spores.  Add a few drops to a spray bottle of water.  Spray your surface & wipe with a clean cloth.  Ten drops of Pine Essential Oil to a half cup of white vinegar for a clean floor.

Pine Essential Oil aroma is fresh, sweet & green.  It’s reminiscent of walking through a coniferous forest. It leaves you refreshed, invigorated & uplifted.  The healing aroma clears blocked sinuses, eases head tension & has a positive strengthening & reviving effect on your body & mind.

Blending Pine Essential Oil with Lemon Essential Oil on a cotton ball placed at the bottom of your trash can will help decrease bacteria & odors.

Adding Pine Essential Oil & Tea Tree Essential Oil to the bottom of stinky shoes will help rid them of odor & bacteria.

Use Bergamot Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil & Pine Essential Oil to reduce stress & anxiety.  This blend can also increase your spiritual awareness & alertness.  Diffuse it during your meditation & prayer time.

Pine Essential Oil blended with Eucalyptus Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil, then mixed in olive oil, beeswax & coconut oil makes a wonderful rub.  Use it as you would a vapor rub.  On your chest, upper back & souls of your feet.  It will help open your respiratory system & improve breathing.

As wonderful as Pine Essential Oil is, you must exercise caution when using it.  Applying it to your skin without diluting it can case irritation.  Folks with allergies & sensitive skin are especially at risk.  You can make a 1% solution & test on less sensitive areas, like your forearm or foot soles.  You’ll want to make it a small test patch.  Make sure to give it about 24 hours before applying to your chest or back.

Always use diluted. Keep Pine Essential Oil away from your eyes & mucus membranes.  Never ingest any Essential Oil except under the guidance of a certified Aromatherapist & only a pure therapeutic-grade oil.

So, as you can see, Pine Essential Oil is a versatile oil & really needs to be in your Essential Oil first aid kit.  I have it in mine.

Thank you, my friends.  I appreciate your time & pray you have a found a nugget to add your store of knowledge.

Til then, Be Blessed

Sebaceous Cyst & Essential Oils

WelCome My Friends.  Thank you for joining me.  Today we’re going to look at sebaceous cysts.  I had a friend reach out to me about these & decided I needed to share my findings.

The first thing I needed to do was learn what I could about sebaceous cysts.  That’s when I learned I have one & it’s what was on my dad’s arm.  We were lucky since ours didn’t hurt.  Apparently, some do.
Cysts are abnormalities in the body, usually containing a liquid-ish material.  Usually they are slow growing, non-cancerous & non-life threatening.  Depending on where they develop & how large they grow, they can become painful.

The sebaceous cyst is caused by some sort of trauma or malformation to the sebaceous gland.  This gland produces & secrets sebum, an oil-ish fluid that coats your hair & skin.  Only a medical doctor is trained to know the difference between a sebaceous, epidermoid or a pilonidal cyst.

Each one is a malformed or damaged gland or skin or hair follicle.  Each of these are part of the epidermis (our skin).  This is our largest organ & takes a lot of abuse.  One of the major functions of the skin is to eliminate waste from our body.

Because of this irregularity, the pore can become blocked.  When that happens, you can develop a mass of some sort, somewhere on your body.

Ok, we’ve identified the body part affected & the function of that body part.  That gives a starting spot.  As we research natural cures we’ll have a feel for its potential.  So, let’s dive on in!

As I said the skin is an organ whose function is to help eliminate toxins from our body.  It does that through pores & sweating. When these pores become clogged or damaged & are unable to do their job, then the system starts backing up & pushing out in other ways.  Acne is an example of just that very thing.
I would recommend detoxing your system to start.  There are a lot of recipes for delicious detox drinks.  I prefer to drink mine in the mornings.  My choice was a cup of warm water, half a fresh squeezed lemon juice, turmeric, organic honey, ground ginger & black pepper.  I drink this every morning for 30 days.

I also took a detox bath at least twice a week during this month.  A cup of lavender infused Epsom Salts & baking soda.  I like it as hot as I can stand it.  I also do some yoga meditation while in the tub.  I feel like I’m
opening my pores & my mind, letting out the toxins from both.

I want to tell you that part of what started me on detoxing was starting Plexus.  Plexus is a company that makes plant-based supplements that aid in healing your gut.  You can read more about it earlier in this blog at Since I started Plexus I have increased my water intake to just over 80 oz. a day.

Increasing your water intake is huge, in my opinion.  Our bodies are mostly water, so the body needs water replaced to function.  The more fresh water you intake, the better all your organs will work, including your skin.

So far, we have taking water in, giving the body what it needs to function.  Elimination of this water carries off the toxins.  Sounds like a good start to me!

Next, we can look at how to relieve the built-up pressure & maybe even heal the irregularity of the skin.  May I say there is a ton of suggestions?  Lol, I’ll see what I can do w/it all.
Acupuncture & Massaging – My understanding of Acupuncture is that it increases blood flow to areas which are blocked.  If this is correct, then I would agree.

I know Massaging, (especially the deep tissue massage) increases blood flow to the knots in the muscle.  That’s why they’ll usually hand you a bottle of water after the massage.  The massaging breaks up & releases the built-up toxins.  You need to increase your water intake to help eliminate those toxins.

You need to be careful, though, with massaging a cyst.  You don’t want to cause more trauma to the already injured pore.  I would suggest easy massages.

But you can add Essential Oils to the massage that will encourage increased blood flow.  They’re known as “hot” oils.  They’re photo-toxic.  When exposed to the sun they will increase the heat where applied, so DO NOT USE 12 HOURS BEFORE GOING IN THE SUN.  You also want to be careful of becoming over sensitive to one of these oils, so I would suggest either using sparingly or diluted.  It may take longer, but could be better for you in the long run.

There’re a few items you may already have around your home that you could use.  Castor oil, apple cider vinegar, baking soda paste, raw potato slice, honey & cinnamon paste, aloe vera & witch hazel, to name a few.  You apply it anywhere from a half hour to bandaged for days.  Personally, I wouldn’t leave anything on for days.  Most I would do is all night while sleeping & while at work.  Cleaning & letting it breath in between bandages.

I mentioned diluting Essential Oils so you could apply them to the cyst.  You could add a drop or two of Essential Oils to the two pastes I mentioned earlier, baking soda & honey/cinnamon.  If you wanted to heal the skin, you might add Tea Tree Essential Oil.  Tea Tree Essential Oil is non-photo-toxic, so you can use it before going outside.

For the night, you might want to use your Lemon Essential Oil.  It’s great for creating healing, as it increases the blood flow to that area.  Increased blood flow allows more toxins to be washed out, thereby shrinking the cyst.  (See my blog on Lemon Essential Oil.)

When my friend asked me if there is a natural way to cure a sebaceous cyst, I didn’t know thing one about them.  During my research, I figured out I have two.  One is on my outer arm, between the inner & outer elbow.  The other, I realized, was at the bottom of my hairline on the back of my neck.

In the past year, I really hadn’t been paying attention to them.  They were never very big, nor do they unduly bother me.  Their presence bothered me, but the cyst itself did not.

Now that I realize what they are, I’ve checked them out.  They are smaller.  The one on my arm I hardly even feel it anymore.  The one on my neck is hardly noticeable.
As I mentioned, I take Plexus, drink lots of water, detox about every six months.  I also use my own deodorant made from baking soda, corn starch & Tea Tree Essential Oil.  This blend encourages the body to detox & heal, while preventing odor.  You can also make it in stick form, utilizing coconut oil & starch flour.

Then there is the Grapeseed oil & Tea Tree Essential Oil blend.  It softens my skin, while aiding in the removal of skin tags.  Grapeseed oil is a fast absorbing carrier oil.  This helps in getting the healing properties of Tea Tree Essential Oil to the inside of the body.

To tie this up, I’ll say this, you need to learn your body & listen to it.  Heaven knows it’s a work in progress, but any step is momentum.  In the past year, I have been learning & growing.  I’ve started doing things I didn’t think I would do & enjoying it.  I would say that for me the key has been moderation & perseverance.

I would love to hear of your journey.  To be able to learn from you.

My friends, I pray this has somehow enlightened your life.

Thank you for joining me.  I look forward to talking with you again soon.  Til then, Be Blessed

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Welcome my friends!  I’m so delighted you are visiting our community today.  It is always good to see you.
Today I want to share what I’ve learned about Eucalyptus Essential Oil.  This Oil is probably one you remember from childhood.  Then, as now, it was known as Vick’s Vapo Rub.  I loved the smell of Vick’s!  I always felt better after a night all slathered down in that stuff!

hen, as a mother, I used it on my babies & watched it heal them.  Now, coming full circle, I’m seeing my kids treat their kids the same way.  Vick’s Vapo Rub.

The first time I inhaled the aroma of Eucalyptus Oil, my memories took me straight back to childhood.  That’s when I learned Eucalyptus Oil is the main ingredient to Vick’s.

A few years ago I went to the doctor with my husband.  I had a cough & congestion.  After the doctor was finished with my husband he told me to take a couple of fresh garlic cloves, slightly crushed, a few drops of Eucalyptus Oil & boil them together in a pot of water.  Once boiling, remove the pot from the heat, tent myself, breathing deeply.
That particular bottle of Eucalyptus Oil was not an Essential Oil.  I didn’t know it then, but, it wasn’t a requirement.  That Oil came in a large, clear plastic bottle from our local health food store.  An Essential Oil will always come in an amber or other colored glass container.  We discussed this in “Synthetic Oils vs Essential Oils”, published on June 17, 2017.

So, let us learn about Aromatherapy’s Eucalyptus Essential Oil.  [] There are several species of Eucalyptus.  There is Eucalyptus radiata* (aka Black Peppermint Essential Oil) & Eucalyptus citridora (Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil).  The one we use the most would be Eucalyptus globulus.  It has a strong medicine aroma, a fresh woody & earthy fragrance.

The Eucalyptus Tree is a native of Australia, but is also found in Brazil & Spain.  The Australians have used parts of this tree for its medicinal purposes for generations.  You can find a bottle of Eucalyptus Essential Oil in almost every home.  It’s used to clean & disinfect the house.  When used as a rub or inhalant it can clear your breathing.  Leaves from this tree have been used to “bandage” wounds, aiding in quicker healing time with less scarring.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil has so many uses it really needs to be a part of your first aid kit.  It’s antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory.  It can be used as an anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, deodorant, bug repellant & an expectorant.

It eases bronchitis, coughs, cold & flu systems.  It soothes ear infections, arthritis, rheumatism & muscle pains.  Reduces acne, cleanses minor wounds, eases diabetic systems & boots your immune system.

Eucalyptus is antimicrobial & antiviral.  There is research that shows Eucalyptus Essential Oil has been successful in helping people with Asthma, Pneumonia & Tuberculosis.

Because of its cooling & refreshing aroma, Eucalyptus Essential Oil is a natural stimulate.  Rejuvenating your spirits when you’re under the weather.  It has been effective in the relief of stress disorders.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil is employed in some classrooms.  The oil is considered a vasodilator, meaning it increases the blood flow, relaxing blood vessels which allows blood to circulate more efficiently. This means more blood to the brain, in turn increasing student performance.

That’s just what it can do on its own.  When you blend Eucalyptus Essential Oil with other Essential Oils, like Lavender, Ginger, Peppermint, Grapefruit, Tea Tree & so many others, your options are limitless!!

Mix Eucalyptus Essential Oil & Peppermint Essential Oil with distilled water in a spray bottle.  Spray on the body to use as a deodorant or to reduce a fever.  Mix with a carrier oil & rub on the chest to open up the nasal, sinus passages & the lungs.

Equal drops of four each of Eucalyptus Essential Oil & Lemon Essential Oil can elevate the mood in a room.  Five drops each of Eucalyptus Essential Oil & Tea Tree Essential Oil will transport you to either a lighthearted episode, or maybe a romantic interlude.  Either way it’s bound to improve one’s mood.

Stuck inside on a snowy day?  Try diffusing two drops each of Eucalyptus Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil & Orange Essential Oil.  Use it to cheer up the atmosphere.

Because Eucalyptus Essential Oil is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, antimicrobial & antiviral it’s perfect for cleaning surfaces around the house.  Mix it with baking soda, white vinegar, Tea Tree Essential Oil & for the tough rings, add borax, Lavender Essential Oil & Peppermint Essential Oil.

Well, my friends, I pray you have found some value from my journey.  What else are we here for it not to share our journeys & learn from others in our community?

I thank you for your time & look forward to speaking with you again.

Til next we meet, my friends, Be Blessed.

* Eucalyptus radiata is one of the Essential Oils used in Thieves Oil.  Thieves Oil is a blend of 5-6 Essential Oils.  It received its name from the Bubonic Plague.  During the 15th century the bubonic plague was epidemic status & naturally was affecting the merchants & trade.  So, a group of these merchants, knowing the ability of Essential Oils, created a blend that protected them from the killer disease.  That allowed them to rob the bodies of any valuables & then sell them, making a very lucrative living from it.

When the king learned of this group of merchants, he had them brought in to learn their secret.  Once the king had the blend, he ordered it to be mixed as quickly as possible & provided to the people.

Or so the story goes.  😉

When the Student is Ready Pt 3

My friends, I am humbled you are spending time with me.  I know this has been a long journey, but my prayer is you are able to find some trinket that is usable to you.

With that said, let us continue.

I’m sure you’ve figured by now that it was the PTSD where some of my armor started to chink.  I didn’t break down & cry, never even needed a tissue (which were sitting around on the tables), but there was some orbital socket over-moisturizing happening.  I couldn’t tell you exactly what it was that was sinking in, but I realized I needed help or I was going to explode.  (No, not violence.  More like yelling & not much of self-control.)
My drive home after this was on a Friday evening, 5 o’clock traffic, hour drive home.  Let me say I do appreciate the convenience cell phones provide.  My husband was on the other end & boy did he get an earful!!  Poor man!  How he puts up with me is a wonder… There’s a country song by Lee Brice, “I’m Hard to Love”.  I’ve told him that’s a chorus I say to him.  Lol.
Anyway, in my rant, I told him my feelings.  He explained he understood, after all, he knew what was going on at my job.  The pressure I was feeling.  That man even thanked me for ranting!  Can you believe him!  Yeah, I don’t know what I did to deserve him, but I do work at keeping him happy, also.
That did let some of the (self-imposed) pressure out.  But the biggest pressure was coming from the job.  I was dreading going in on Monday.  The overtime (I later found out that while I thought I was barely keeping up w/the other ladies working O/T, I actually had the most), the lack of control I felt I had over my desk & how the heck was I going to keep up!  The boss was implementing a change & I was leery of it.  Something I had experienced before with negative results.  I asked God for help.  It was all too big for me.
Then, Saturday morning, I’m doing my usual on the computer & in my emails were invites to opportunities to grow myself (check out on YouTube Brene Brown on trust) & my business. Lessons on how to make money blogging came my way (thanks to a wonderful fellow Peer Support Team member!!). I knew these were answers for me.  The teachers were knocking on my door.

That weekend I started my serious meditation time utilizing theta wave music, I am-ness &, of course, Essential Oils (My New Norm Utilizing Aromatherapy), Sunday August 20, 2017).  Changes needed to be made & there is only one thing to which I have any control.  Me.
I found myself able to comfortably meditate for, what I think is a long time, about 20 minutes.  I know the time because the music is a YouTube video that is a touch over an hour long.  When I’m ready to return then I can see by the timer how long.  Remember, meditate for as long as is comfortable.  I feel I get so much more out of it.
Right after I start the music (plays on just the computer speakers) I take a couple of deep inhales from a small, amber bottle.  It’s my meditation blend I’m trying out.  Certain blends are known to aide in focus & relaxation.

I like to start in the Mountain Pose.  I focus on balancing on the three points of my feet.Heel, ball & under the little toe.  I can feel this pulling my arches up.  My feet are only about three inches apart & I can feel my leg muscles adjusting to keep my balance.  I put a balance in my hips, not too forward, not to far back.  My inhale brings space between my vertebrae, giving length to my spine.  Pull my shoulders back & anchored, arms down at my side, palms out.  Head balanced on my spine, eyes closed.  I feel the energy flowing up from the earth through the soles of my feet, up my legs, joining at the spine, flowing on up & out the crown of my head, joining the energy of the universe.

When it is time to change poses I move as my body leads, eventually ending up crossed legged on the floor.  Here’s where the deep meditation occurs.  I have strengthened my back enough to sit up without using a wall for support.  I can now feel the energy flowing through the chakras.

I can feel the openness & focus on what I am, who I am & it’s all positive.
I made a “visual board”, one for home, one for work.  I planned on meditating at the office for a few minutes every morning.  I would bring peace & harmony into my office, at least.  That didn’t really last past, like, the second day.  I found out in my emails that morning there was no more need for O/T.  Some pressure was lifted.
I have two CDs of Christian music in my boombox (yes, I have one & it still works) in my office.  They’re certain passages that some folks wrote music so as to sing the verses.  Each song is just that same verse repeated over & over, but they did it very well.  That practice is hit & miss.  But there are those mornings when I want that energy in my day.  A smidge more pressure lifted.
Over the weekend an idea occurred to me on how to speed up one of my processes.  How I could actually work on two things at once.  How I can get more accomplished in less time, how to be more efficient.  A wee bit more pressure released.
There’s one more thing I did on Friday that helped changed my outlook.  Both days I went out to lunch with a fellow Team member.  I’ll call him Andy.  Anyway, at lunch the second day I told him I wanted to use him as Support, he knows the person I’ve been struggling with & I needed the confidentiality afforded by Peer Support.  He provided a very simple, but brilliant idea.  A fraction more released.
Believe it or not, these methods turned it around for me.  By the time the person arrived I was in a much better place.  As the week progressed my new process was working beautifully.  I had my desk caught up by Tuesday.  Really feeling in a good place.
By the end of the week I have my desk totally under control.  I was ready to go on vacation & it would not affect my two co-workers.  I knew what to expect when I came back & knew I could handle getting items out in a timely manner.

During vacation, I continued to meditate.  My husband pitched in & helped me around the house, without me asking him.  I knew the job was under control & I felt like I had a direction in which to grow my on-line store.  I came back from vacation feeling like I have been washed cleaned.
Oh, by the way, things are starting to happen in my business.  They’re little things, but it is movement, it is growth.  You don’t get a mustard tree from the seed overnight.  Growth is slow, but steady in the beginning, so one could miss the little changes.  In time, with care & patience, that little mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds, will grow.  It will grow into one of the largest of trees, providing living space for many birds.

My friends, thank you for joining me on this discovery of peace.  I know it’s been long, but it is a tipping spot for me.  It could be for you, also.
Next week we will look at Eucalyptus Essential Oil.  Definitely one that should be in your first aid kit.
‘Til next we meet, Be Blessed.
